Cambridge is a small city about 50 miles north of London, but is famous throughout the world for its university.  Founded in 1209, it’s widely considered one of the best in the world.

Cambridge is home to 120,000 people, nearly 25,000 of which are students.

Although the University is very old, it’s also very modern - home to cutting edge research in bioscience and computer software.  The Cambridge Biomedical Campus is home to companies doing research in this field.

As a result, there are many high-tech startups in Cambridge which have spun-off from the University - and the city is the heart of the high-tech area known as “Silicon Fen”.

As you’d expect, Cambridge has many excellent museums including the Fitzwilliam Museum with a fine collection of Egyptian antiquities, and artworks by Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Rembrandt and more.

Visitors to Cambridge can enjoy many attractions, or simply soak up the atmosphere and beautiful architecture.  Highlights include the Bridge of Sighs at St John’s College, Trinity College (founded by Henry VIII) and Emmanuel College.
