Harmonic osteopathy is a bespoke treatment regime based on harmonic technique that uses gentle rhythmic oscillatory movements to relax muscles, relieve pain and repair any damaged structures - rather than loud joint "cracking" or "popping".

Strictly speaking osteopathy is a philosophy not a treatment.

It looks at how the body is functioning.

Muscles, joints and ligaments are common sources of pain, which respond well to treatment to re-align their imbalance or dys-function.

Imbalance causes stress on the body, pain, weakness and damage. Osteopaths try to restore the balance and therefore reduce pain and stiffness and facilitate repair.

Different osteopaths use different choices of treatment to achieve this objective.

We practise osteopathy with minimal need for loud and scary "cracks" and "pops" and painful deep tissue massage associated with traditional physical therapies.

We provide a gentler form of treatment that aims to mobilise joints and muscles using rhythmic oscillatory movements that gently rock the affected areas of the body to help fluid and blood circulation, ease muscle congestion, loosen stiff/painful areas and repair damaged tissues.

This is a less "heavy-handed" approach.

The initial session will last for up to one hour and will include: a full consultation and examination; discussion of your condition and treatment.

Treatment sessions usually involve a combination of different manual techniques, primarily harmonic technique but also massage, specific exercises, medical acupuncture, or traditional joint adjustments if desired.

You should wear loose clothing during treatments e.g. tracksuit or shorts and a tee shirt.
