Eastbourne, home to more than 100,000 people, is a seaside resort in East Sussex. Unlike many seaside towns, Eastbourne’s population is still growing - in fact it’s the second fastest-growing seaside town in Britain.
As a seaside resort, tourism is still the mainstay of Eastbourne’s economy, although there are also many engineering and small manufacturing firms in the town, and it’s been named a “creative cluster” with more than 900 creative firms operating within the town.
Visitors enjoy walking along the Victorian seafront with its historic hotels, as well as visiting the pier and bandstand. There’s a 4 mile long shingle beach to walk along, and you can walk all the way to Beachy Head.
Other popular attractions include the Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway, the Towner Art Gallery and the Eastbourne Lifeboat Museum.
The Devonshire Park Theatre and the Royal Hippodrome Theatre offer a wide range of shows and entertainment.
