Simpsons Golf Shop

Carnoustie, Angus
Simpsons golf shop since 1883
Simpsons golf shop since 1883
This is widely believed to be the 2nd oldest golf shop in the world, Tom Morris in St Andrews being older.

The Simpson family brought a huge amount to golf in Scotland, not to mention the world.

Archie Simpson was twice runner up in the Open championship and is accredited to tutoring Stewart Maiden in Carnoustie who in turn taught the finest golfer the world has ever seen, Bobby Jones.

Robert was one of the finest club and ball makers of his time, also designing courses such as Carnoutie medal (with Old Tom Morris) Royal Aberdeen, Cruden Bay and Murcar.

Their brother Jack won the Open championship in 1884.

The shop is worth a visit purely on the history factor.

The shop itself was refurbished in 2010 and stocks leading brands at competitive prices.

The staff are friendly and helpful, the shop is open in summer from 8am - 9pm seven days a week.
