There has been a golf course at Casterton for over 50 years. In recent years the course has been radically improved and extended after a new layout was introduced in 1993.

The nine hole course is situated one mile north of Kirkby Lonsdale and is set in beautiful countryside overlooking the market town making it well worth a visit.

On the course the views from all directions are spectacular. On one side there are the Yorkshire Dales, on another the Lakeland Fells and looking southwards down the Lune Valley towards the Lancashire Coast.

The course measure 5,800 yards and has been designed using the naturally undulating parkland with rocky outcrop. Many trees have been planted with shrubs and small plants round some of the greens and tee areas. All the holes have their own character and features providing a challenge for all golfing abilities.

The underlying rock is limestone which provides excellent drainage ensuring that the course is playable all year round. The course has a reputation for the excellence of its greens and the high standard to which it is maintained.

The modern licensed clubhouse was opened in 1996 and offers a warm welcome for all. There are changing rooms with showers, a well stocked pro shop and catering facilities are available all day every day.

Societies and groups are well catered for with packages tailored to suit requirements.

Above the clubhouse are two luxurious self contained holiday flats sleeping 4/5 persons. Each flat is furnished to a high standard and provides an excellent base for golfer and non-golfer alike with half price golf for all residents at Casterton Golf Course.
