I tried a few instructors but driving didn't come naturally to me and I always really dreaded my driving lessons. After starting and stopping learning to drive over a few years I was at the point of giving up. I decided to try one more time and found the website for Theydon Driving School. The experience of learning to drive was completely different and for the first time, I felt positive before going for a driving lesson. Ian has a very friendly and patient manner and makes you feel completely at ease. He was the only instructor who was able to teach me to feel in control of the car and gave me the confidence to finally go for my driving test. Ian also helped me to feel calm on the day and I passed first time! I would highly recommend Theydon Driving School to anyone learning to drive. I only wish I found Theydon Driving School earlier!

Put quite simply, I passed my test first time and have had a very enjoyable, interesting and value-for-money experience learning to drive. I am confident that the skills Ian has taught me will make me a good driver for life. The service has been outstandingly excellent and I cannot honestly think of a single thing to be critical of. I cannot recommend Ian highly enough to anyone searching for a driving instructor.

Ian, who runs Theydon Driving School, is quite simply an exceptionally good driving instructor. I was having significant difficulty, doing okay but stumbling at the final hurdle with other instructors. He made me feel much more confident and his great strength in my opinion is that he will complement when you do good things but also has an attention to detail that inspires confidence. I passed with Ian when I had become very despondent prior to using him and I would say that he is an excellent choice if you are learning to drive, whatever your situation.

I have chosen the Theydon Bois Driving School, as someone recommended it to me. Ian was my third driving instructor during my learning period. I did not regret changing my driving instructor because the previous one just did not help me to give confidence and most importantly they were not as flexible and professional as Ian is. I was learning to drive with Ian for two months. On our first driving lesson my driving was messy and panicky.Ian helped me to calm down. He taught me how to drive safe and in the same time my driving became much more relaxed and more considerate. This two months period was enough to prepare for my test. I have passed it at first attempt. I think I wouldn't have passed the test without a such a good instructor as Ian. I would highly recommend the Theydon Bois Driving School to anyone who is learning to drive.

After having four previous driving instructors before Ian, I had difficulty settling with and feeling comfortable learning to drive with instructors. (Both Men and Women). After searching many different companies I rang Ian with the date of my test and he immediately (that day) gave me a trail driving lesson to see how we got on. Ian gave off the impression of a calm, relaxed atmosphere that made me feel calm and confident to drive. Ian's teaching style was very effective for me, for example if I done something wrong during my driving, Ian would talk about it in detail and made sure I know how its meant to be done, and ask me to try it again, this worked very well as I overcome my weakness (which were roundabouts) and then apprise me, without sounding pushy! Ian is a very good driving instructor, he taught me many things other instructors would not - such as driving in the snow, ice or going through puddles. I would recommend 'Theydon Driving School' as an well cared, excellent quality driving school which financially helped me as I am a full time student!

Apart from a few lessons prior to going to Theydon Driving School I had no experience of driving a car. I always found the driving instructor Ian to be very helpful. He has a nice, calm and friendly approach. His advice and instructions were always very clear. He would always point out the good things you were doing before talking about how to improve, and always knew what the next step/steps forward should be in your learning. Lessons with Ian were always a pleasure. As an experienced motorcyclist I already had some road sense I could transfer to driving a car, but Ian can certainly take most of the credit for me passing my test first time I took it (with very few minors at that). Ian at Theydon driving was brilliant! He knew exactly how to adapt his teaching methods to suit me, he took his time with the manoeuvres that I found more difficult. The value for money was outstanding!Also he makes you feel comfortable, it doesn't feel like a test all the time, he talks about anything that comes to mind and makes the time learning to drive more relaxed and enjoyable.The result of Ian's teaching was Passing my test first time!Thanks Ian!!!
