Mind The Step

Knutsford, Cheshire
Mind The Step is an Appalachian Clog dance team based at Tabley village hall, just off junction 19 of the M6.

Appalachian dancing originates from traditional English, Irish and Scottish clogging and stepping styles as danced by the immigrants who settled in the Appalachian Mountains in North America. The dance form evolved in remote mountain communities and incorporated steps from the dance style of native Indians and former slaves.

Mind The Step use traditional Appalachian clogging, stepping and flat footing styles dancing in tap shoes to choreograph all their own dances, drawing inspiration from many sources ranging from the American flag in Liberty to the name of the local pub in Windmills!

Mind The Step rehearse on Sunday evenings from 7.30 - 10pm.

Beginners are taught in the first hour of the evening but are welcome to stay for the whole practise to watch, joining in with the team when ready. Mind The Step are a performing team and often dance out at music festivals, fetes and charity events. Dancing with Mind The Step is great fun and a good way to exercise!

This energetic and exciting dance form will take your breath away - dancers and spectators!!
