Indian Arts Centre (IAC), UK is a registered organisation under Reading Children's and Voluntary Youth Services and all activities are conducted on a formal basis.

IAC UK was set up by highly able teachers and volunteers in June 2010 to provide a non-for- profit community learning zone.

Our aim is to promote languages and the various performing art forms of the Indian Subcontinent through regular schools, contemporary productions, heritage workshops and multimedia projects.

Providing a common platform to those who wish to draw upon the rich culture of India, IAC UK tries to achieve a strong cultural community within UK.

Here Dr Sudeshna Gupta will teach kathak and Chiroisree Bose will teach the creative dances.

This is the only place in South East where people can learn different art forms under one roof.

Moreover, this is the only place in South East where people will learn the creative dance form that was started by the legendary Uday Sankar.

The dance style invented by Uday Sankar and has the intrinsic grammar of classical Indian dance and yet it is pioneering, contemporary and not constraining with the anchors of rigid classicism.

The graceful body movements of the dancers are blended with the expression of vibrant folk dances of India to attain a statuesque quality of lyrics and emotion.
