We offer classes for both children and adults in Classical Ballet, Modern, Jazz and Tap to the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus. We also teach Salsa, Ballroom and Singing.

All of our classes are lively and creative with an emphasis on sound dance technique and stagecraft. We set high standards but we also have Fun!!!

Dance is very beneficial to children and adults for many reasons. These include the improvement in physical fitness, the building of self confidence and character and learning new skills and challenging oneself on a daily basis. These are qualities and skills which will also enhance their lives away from the dance studio too. Dance allows children to become energised, developing the ability to concentrate, and enjoy working as a team. Bodies become not only stronger but flexible and co-ordinated, at the same time developing self expression and musical awareness.

We provide a purposeful, fun and educational environment to learn the art of dance, music and performance. Instruction is offered for all ages and abilities. At Insteps we promote the idea that learning and dancing are stimulating and enjoyable, and the effort is rewarding. Students acquire self discipline and respect for their art, while still benefiting from the creativity and movement.

We aim to build self-confidence, encouraging dancers to be proud of their abilities and accomplishments. There are regular opportunities for dancers to show their talent at dance festivals throughout the year.

We offer examinations in Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz for the ISTD faculty..

Pupils are encouraged to perform in local productions both for In-Steps and other amateur and professional companies. These include The Royal Ballet in Birmingham, professional productions at Ludlow castle during Ludlow Festival and local amateur operatic societies such as Hereford and Stourbridge. We also participate in several dance festivals throughout the year winning many cups and trophies. In-Steps regularly produce a school show giving the chance for every student to take part and perform on stage with their classmates.
