The House That Jack Built

Plymouth, Devon
The House That Jack Built was officially opened on 26th May 1982 by the Lord Mayor, Councillor Reg Scott.

Featuring a range of small craft shops in meandering corridors that host fairytale scenes with gnomes, plants and waterfalls.

It was the brain child of Jack Nash, a Barbican painter and friend of Robert O. Lenkiewicz; after becoming inspired by a small craft market in St Ives called "The Sloop".

The unique interior is based on Jack's artistic imagination.

A place where dragons and gnomes frolic by waterfalls flowing into leafy dells and nooks.

The House That Jack built offers an unusual shopping experience where you can meander through olde-world passageways, where Dickensian style shop windows offer a glimpse into the treasures displayed.
