Period properties need to be treated with respect. They have lasted this long with the materials used to create them and it will only last that long again if we use those materials again.

The APR company use lime products on traditional building for example, Lime render (with animal hair were necessary, lime mortar for brick work, Limewash or lime paint for interior and exterior decorations. For stone or tiled floors we use breathable floor coatings to allow the floors to breath correctly avoiding damp problems at a later date.
