Ascot Studios

Ribchester, Lancashire
Ascot Studios is a highly successful contemporary art gallery based in the beautiful and historic village of Ribchester, in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Established in 2005, the organization has the following aims:

To professionally represent local, national and international artists. To be a leading resource of high quality original contemporary art to develop and pursue all aspects of the visual arts, new media and music.

Over the last five years Ascot Studios have established a strong network of artists, art collectors, corporate clients and speculative investors.

National Magazine coverage in Art of England, Aesthetica, Galleries Magazine, Concept for Living and Lancashire Life has affirmed and validated Ascot Studios' growing reputation as one of the north's leading independent art galleries.

"Ascot Studios is a complex which has developed into one of Lancashire's premier centres of modern art."
Roger Borrell, Editor of 'Lancashire Life'

Ascot Studios is home to five resident artists with professional studios and there is a further network of artists from across the UK and Europe that are regularly featured in exhibitions at the gallery. Angela Wakefield, co-founder and resident artist at Ascot Studios, has enjoyed critical acclaim from industry professionals.

"Angela Wakefield is a rising star of British Art; I was struck by the urbanized genre, the scattering of light in form, and the sheer reality of scene. I have not seen such arrangement in art since viewing paintings by Edward Hopper."
Ian McClurg-Welland, Art Historian & Author, 'Art of England'

The exhibition and studio space at Ribchester is over 2500 sqft in size and located within Bee Mill, a converted industrial north light building. The original features of the mill have been incorporated into the space - such as the high ceilings and cast iron pillars, but it is the enormous amount of natural light that lends itself perfectly for the exhibition and production of large scale artwork.

The gallery boasts a wide selection of original and collectible artwork from creative practitioners working on canvas, steel and wood.

Although the main emphasis is on original work, there is a selection of high quality signed limited edition prints available on canvas.

Corporate and private commissions are welcome by arrangement.
