The Towngate Gallery is a fine art gallery specializing in quality original works of art and limited edition prints. We carry a large range of artwork including original works by local and national artists, encompassing Contemporary and traditional oil paintings, watercolours and pen & ink drawings of seascapes, skyscapes, sunsets, floral, Dorset villages, miniature paintings and artistic & marine photography.

Added to this we carry a range of artistic gifts including pottery, glassware, artistic jewelry and sculpture.

Our staff has many years of experience in looking after clients and their needs and they enjoy helping them find that very special work of art or gift that means so much. Our success rate is very good and we have had a lot of pleasure seeing the joy in clients faces as they walk out of our door with their purchase.

At Towngate we have also been framing for a quarter of a century and have always prided ourselves on keeping up with the latest innovations, as well as keeping the traditional skills and values of our framing, that we are so well known for.

Towngate Gallery and Framing proudly boast two Guild Commended Framers and we are Multi Award Winning framers for all types of artwork, photographs, limited and open edition prints, certificates, medals, memorabilia, 3D objects, embroideries, tapestries and many more unusual items.... even the odd cake or two!!! No jobs are to small or large for our extensive workshop and we enjoy looking after our clients work as if it were our own.

Our Framing Service offers bespoke framing for both the Retail and Corporate Markets and the Towngate Gallery offers a consultancy service for businesses both large and small, who require pictures for their reception areas, offices, work areas etc. This service includes an initial consultation visit to assess the images and needs required by the company and the environment in which the framed images are going to be displayed. The team is happy to advise on the type of image to use, colour co-ordination, styles of framing, etc.

We also have an Award Winning printing department that can print individual canvases (large or small) and can renovate old and damaged photographs with reprints. Artists and photographers love the quality of our printing and use us all the time for large or small runs of prints and cards, a lot of which we sell in the our gallery.

From the early days of Towngate we have restored original paintings, antique prints and frames to their formal glory for collectors, dealers and the general public. We frame to high conservation standards and specialize in the delicate wash-lines around the old watercolours.
