The Northamptonshire town of Kettering is home to 67,000 people.
The town continues to grow in popularity - especially with commuters as it’s on the Midland Main Line railway - and only an hour from London St Pancras by train.
Kettering’s history dates back to Roman times, when the area seems to have been a centre for iron smelting.
More recently, the town grew significantly in the 19th century as Northamptonshire’s main industry of shoe manufacturing took off. There was also quarrying in the area for raw materials including iron ore.
Today, Kettering is home to Timsons, Pegasus Software and Weetabix.
One of the main local visitor attractions is Wicksteed Park which is Britain’s second-oldest theme park, having opened in 1921.
