One of the most famous names in British history, today, the East Sussex town of Hastings is home to 90,000 people.
As every schoolchild knows, the Battle of Hastings took place in 1066, and was a decisive victory in the Norman Conquest.
Fishing was the main industry in Hastings for many years, but by the 19th century, the arrival of the railways made the town a popular seaside resort, and tourism became increasingly important.
