The city of Bath in Somerset is such an important historical site that it’s been designated as a World Heritage Site.

It’s certainly home to some spectacular architecture, including the Royal Crescent, the Roman Baths and Pumproom and Bath Abbey - all created from beautiful golden Bath stone.

There are more than 40 galleries, museums and other attractions to explore, so it’s no wonder that Bath is one of Britain’s most popular tourist destinations outside the capital, with more than three million annual visitors.

Modern Bath is home to around 90,000 people, and although the tourism industry is probably the town’s largest employer, there are also software and publishing companies such as Future Publishing located in Bath.

Bath is a cultural centre boasting no less than 5 theatres, and the city also holds the Bath International Music Festival each year.

Although you can find all the usual High Street chains in Bath, the city is notable for its excellent range of small independent shops that you can’t find anywhere else, giving shopping in Bath an exciting extra dimension:
