A NEW TAXI CONCEPT: John who has lived in Wootton Bassett since the 1980's, been involved in all forms of Transport after leaving the Royal Air Force and who has introduced this '1 Call-taxi' concept as part of A'smile-taxis, said.

" I've stood out in the cold & rain, on low phone battery having to ring around for a Taxi as they will not pass work on, or I've been on tender-hooks at 3am having pre-booked flights over the phone weeks back, wondering whether the Taxi will turn up or our whole holiday plan is ruined before it even starts!

I've been stuck at home, just needing prescriptions or groceries but not wanted to pay extortionate prices, I've been a Driver myself, Taxi driving, running late but no call back facility provided to let the customer know what is going on so, the journey when I do it is not fraught with additional and unnecessary problems.

I've heard horror stories about over the top fare charging or extras added at journeys end, with no clear way to complain at 2 am in the country!

Myself and like minded local drivers are slowly changing that image, to refreshingly put the Customer First to last, yet also aim to run a profitable business as well"

So For example:>
* We work with Customers provide a Tailored service,eg we will go into the
Office/shop/Hospital to meet them, we will collect their bags,groceries or evening
laundry, or whatever the Customer wants
* We will provide written booking confirmation, conditions of service on request.
* We tell the Customer up front the likely journey cost, or fix a price in advance if
Private Hire, we don't do quotes on the phone that then at journeys end vary widely.
* All extras, waiting time charges etc are provided up front.
* We will also find out for customer, for example, car breakdown, wedding cars, limos
contacts etc or if we can't do the job we will pass on, not pass back to the customer.
* We also have a child (from age 5-95) friendly interactive vehicle if you look closely
at the vehicle photos, something a little different to bring a smile on most
faces,literally!
