In the Summer the 18 holes are short, yet still a test of skill and accuracy for the experienced golfer as the well kept greens are small, whilst representing a good introduction to golf for the beginners. In the Winter the 9 hole course is longer representing a challenge for golfers of all abilities with ladies/novices tees on three of the nine holes.
Chulmleigh is a true short course, not a pitch and putt! If you can master Chulmleigh you will play well anywhere.
We have a well stocked licenced bar, bar snacks are always available. There is a south facing patio and BBQ area. We have a small golf shop and we hire all the equipment needed to play.
Our dress code is very relaxed as we expect holiday makers and families in the Summer. We ask that men keep their shirts on and walking boots, wellingtons and high heeled shoes are not allowed.
Children over 10 are welcome although preferably with an adult, those accompanied under 10 must have had golf tuition. Group Junior lessons are available on Saturday mornings at 10am weather permitting throughout the year.
Individual lessons may be booked with our golf coach at a very reasonable cost. Chulmleigh is owned, run and maintained by Roy & Sue Dow who are always on site to give you a friendly welcome and assist in any way possible.
We also have a two bedroom self contained cottage sleeping 4 people (1 double , 1 twin bedroom) which is available on a self catering basis and includes unlimited free golf at Chulmleigh.
Every Saturday we have members competitions throughout the year starting at 1.30pm in summer and 12.30pm in winter. We can still accomodate green fees at these times, although the course is busier then than at other times.
Mixed ability corporate days, half days or summer evening groups would be well suited to this short course, packages can be arranged to suit with food if required.

Chulmleigh is signposted midway between Crediton & Barnstable on the A377 (approximately 17 miles from Barnstaple).
Alternatively from junction 27 on M5 take A361 towards Barnstable, turn left at Moortown Cross (signposted Rose Ash, Bishops Nympton & Ash Mill) approximately 12 miles from Tiverton.
After 200 yards turn left at signpost to Chulmleigh follow this road for 10 miles into Chulmleigh. The Golf Course is signposted in the centre of the village.
