McDonalds Nursery And Garden Centre

Abergavenny, South Wales
We are a long established family run garden centre and nursery. We grow our own bedding, perennial and tomato plants in season. Carbon-neutral LPG is used for heating. You can collect your County Council subsidised compost bin from us, on production of a voucher. We also sell loose compost created from the County's green waste collection scheme. It can be used as a humus, a growing medium in raised beds, and is a cost-effective alternative to peat-based composts. Bag it yourself (60-70 litres) for just £1. A full MCC green recycling bag will cost just £2.

As a member of the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) we are committed to 90% non-peat based compost products. We supply a range of organic and peat free composts and grow bags, including new purpose made vegetable grow bags. We supply a range of alternative organic and green fertiliser products including seaweed, and slug and pesticide alternatives. We supply a wide range of seed potatoes, including organic varieties, and our own produced range of vegetable plants. We sell a wide range of green mulch seeds, organic vegetable seeds and organically produced wild flower and flower seeds. We also stock a wide range of British fruit trees and bushes, and British tree species and hedging material. Visit us for your supplies of low maintenance and drought tolerant plants, and to stock up on bird seed and care products.

We re-use plastic trays and plant pots, and you may return pots that have been purchased from us.

Testimonials

Macdonalds is the antidote to all those slick, overpriced garden centres which seem to abound nowadays. ( You know the ones where you are met at the till by a pleasant enough teenage "Saturday Person" who knows nothing at all about plants). At Macdonalds you will find helpful, knowledgeable and practical folks, who can usually sort out all your needs. We have never been disappointed.
